You are in great care! Our website is self-explanatory but our support is is here to take you step-by-step on how to hold, sit, tune, and play the instrument and sing with it in the easiest way possible. Most of our students started as beginners. 

No, this something we really admire and advocate. We firmly believe Kirtan is for everyone no matter their age, background, know-how, gender, beliefs or location.

We have students learning from the age of 8-years-old to 65-years-old all pursuing their own personal connection without any restrictions or limitations.

It all depends on which program you would like to study with. Our Naad yoga courses are all over the world they are brought to students online and in person too. please check our courses page.  In every program, we have our support team always ready to help online and in person where available. Most of our lessons are online and pre-recorded to enable learners to re-watch again and again as they please so they don't have to worry about making so many notes or missing out on information. 

We also meet a few times a year on camps, retreats, and masterclasses to boost learning.

Raj Academy is an independent educational institution focussed on the science of sound and Gurmat teachings. We are not tied to any Gurdvara or any other religious organization.

At Raj Academy, we follow Gurmat Kirtan Traditions. We teach Guru's Kirtan just the way Guru's prescribed in Sri Guru Granth Sahib. 

Raags convey specific emotional grammar required to understand  Sabd within the context of the prescribed mood on Sabd. 

No. Gurmat Kirtan Tradition is different from the Indian Music system, as Raag represents Mood and in this context time restrictions are not applicable in this school of sound. You can sing any raag at any place and at whichever time you choose. 

It is a colonial-era instrument and it does not belong to Gurmat Kirtan Traditions and creates limitations for practitioner to master emotional tuning. 

Raj Academy is affiliated with Yogi of Sound (United States), Naad Yoga Council NYC (Europe), and Institute of Sound and Mind ISM (India). 

Yogi of Sound is the online learning platform for the ancient science of Sound and Music as a sister organization to support and develop sound-based programs. 

Naad Yoga Council is an initiative by Raj Academy to promote the practice of Naad Yoga globally as the path of inner transformation through Sound. 

Raj Academy operates in India through ISM.

We teach all of the classes primarily in English. But recently, we have also launched our flagship Naad Yoga Teacher Training course in Spanish, German, French, and Panjabi.

The question was why Raag exists as the title of Sabd and what role it plays in our lives. How was Kirtan taught in pre-colonial times? Learning and using Kirtan in life was not widely available during that time, which is why Raj Academy was founded in 1994 in the United Kingdom to bring this education to those who are genuinely interested in embracing Kirtan.

When someone pronounces our name incorrectly, we correct them or simply do not respond. Similarly, achieving the correct pronunciation is important in order to get the desired outcome.
